What we collect, who sees it, and how to have it deleted.
DetoxNJ is an educational publication. Most of it can be read without telling us anything. This page covers the three places where you can share information with us: the contact form, the phone line, and the Treatment Guide AI.
Who we are
DetoxNJ is published by Periscope Behavioral Health, which operates or holds an ownership interest in Emerald Wellness, South Jersey Recovery Program, Palm Beach Recovery Centers, Palm Beach Healing Centers, and Transitions Recovery Program, and is developing a medical detox in Hammonton, NJ (expected Summer 2027).
The contact form
The form asks for your name, a phone number or email address, who the request is for, the substance of concern, your insurance, the best time to reach you, and anything you choose to write in the message box. It also records which page and which button you sent it from. Only your name and one way to reach you are required. Do not put anything in the message box that you would not want a care navigator to read.
When you press send, your browser submits the form to Web3Forms, a third-party form service, which delivers it by email to the DetoxNJ care-navigation team. The Web3Forms account and the mailbox it delivers to belong to DetoxNJ. Web3Forms handles the submission under its own privacy policy. We do not store form submissions on this website.
A care navigator reads your request and contacts you. We share your information with a treatment facility, including the facilities our publisher operates or holds an interest in, only when it fits your needs and you ask us to connect you. We do not sell your information, and we do not accept payment from facilities for it.
The phone line
The phone number on this site, (888) 313-3583, reaches the Periscope Behavioral Health admissions call center. It is a call-tracking number, which means the service that routes the call logs the number you called from and the time of the call. Calls to this number are recorded. The recording and what you say on the call are handled by the Periscope Behavioral Health admissions call center under its own practices; ask the person who answers if you have questions about how your call is handled. The free state lines listed on every page, ReachNJ and the NJ IME Addictions Access Center, are run for the State of New Jersey and are not connected to us.
The Treatment Guide AI
Messages you type into the Treatment Guide AI are sent through this site to Anthropic, the company whose AI model generates the replies, and are handled under Anthropic’s own terms. We do not save your conversation on this website, and the tool does not ask for your name, date of birth, or address. Do not type identifying details into it.
Analytics and cookies
We count page visits with cookie-free analytics (Ahrefs Web Analytics and, where enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics). Neither uses cookies or builds a profile of you. Ahrefs also counts two actions: a tap on our admissions phone number and a completed contact-form submission. Each count records where on the page the tap happened (for example, the footer) or which button opened the form, along with the page address, as for any page visit. It never includes what you typed, your name, or your phone number; the call itself is covered under “The phone line” above. Taps on 911, 988, ReachNJ, and every other help line on this site are not counted. We do not run advertising trackers. The site stores one small setting in your browser so the Treatment Guide stays open or closed as you left it.
Health privacy law
DetoxNJ is a publication, not a treatment program, so the information you send through this site is not a treatment record. Once you are a patient of a treatment program, HIPAA protects your records, and at a federally assisted program a stricter federal rule (42 CFR Part 2) applies on top of it, with limited exceptions such as medical emergencies, court orders, and reports of suspected child abuse. Ask any private program which rules it operates under. We treat what you send us as private, and we cannot promise more than any operator honestly can: email is not a perfectly secure channel.
Seeing or deleting your information
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time through the contact page. Tell us the name and the phone number or email address you used, and we will delete the inquiry from our mailbox and from our Web3Forms account and confirm when it is done.
Changes
